maximize the use of goods, products, and materials produced in the United States through <br />the terms and conditions of Federal financial assistance awards. If selected for an award, <br />grantees must be prepared to demonstrate how they will maximize the use of domestic <br />goods, products, and materials in constructing their project BUILD Transportation grant <br />projects involving vehicle acquisition must involve only vehicles that comply with <br />applicable Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety <br />Regulations, or vehicles that are exempt from Federal Motor Carrier Safety Standards or <br />Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations in a manner that allows for the legal acquisition <br />and deployment of the vehicle or vehicles. <br />For projects administered by FHWA, applicable Federal laws, rules, and regulations <br />set forth in Title 23 U.S.C. and Title 23 C.F.R apply, including the 23 U.S.C. 129 <br />restrictions on the use of toll revenues, and Section 4(f) preservation of parklands and <br />historic properties requirements under 23 U.S.C. 138. .For an illustrative list of the other <br />applicable laws, rules, regulations, executive orders, polices, guidelines, and <br />requirements as they relate to a BUILD Transportation grant project administered by the <br />FHWA, please see <br />https ://ops.fhwa.dot.gov/Freight/infrastructure/tiger/fy2016grexhbt/index.htm <br />For BUILD Transportation projects administered by the Federal Transit <br />Administration and partially funded with Federal transit assistance, all relevant <br />requirements under chapter 53 of title 49 U.S.C. apply.
