PW CASE # <br /> <br />ACQUISITION OF EASEMENTS FOR TRAIL ALONG ALPINE DRIVE <br /> By: Steven J. Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As part of the development agreement with Centex it is proposed to install an eight-foot <br />bituminous trail along Alpine Drive from Roanoke Street to TH 47. This trail will be <br />installed on the north side of Alpine Drive from Roanoke to Zuni street, and then along <br />the south side of the road from Zuni to TH 47. Adequate right-of-way exists throughout <br />the majority of this route, such that the trail can be placed without further acquisitions. <br />However, for a distance of 1185 feet west of Zuni Street, there is five feet or less between <br />the back of the curb and the southern right-of-way. Fifteen-foot permanent easement for <br />trail should be acquired along with an addition al ten feet of temporary easement to <br />accommodate the trail construction. <br /> <br />Also, as part of the Centex plat (Highlands at River Park) the City has negotiated to have <br />an overflow constructed from a pond located south of Alpine Drive and between Ute and <br />Tonto Streets. The construction of the overflow will need an additional 10 feet of <br />drainage and utility easement. <br /> <br />Attached are sketches showing the necessary easements which need to be acquired from <br />four properties: <br /> <br />(a) <br />(b) <br />(c) <br />(d) <br /> <br />Radamacher Property (Bill's) <br />Allina (the Clinic) <br />Single family residence at 15252 Zuni Street NW <br />Single family residence At 15271 Ute Street NW <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff is requesting that the Committee direct staff to prepare the necessary easement <br />documents and authorize the City Manager to negotiate for the easement. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend to Council that staff be authorized to prepare easements. <br />Authorize the City Manager to negotiate for the easements. <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br />PW: 03/19/02 <br /> <br /> <br />
