<br />Councilmember Kuzma introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #19-265 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #19-06, RAMSEY TOWN CENTER 9TH ADDITION <br />POND LINING IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the two stormwater ponds constructed as part of Ramsey Town Center 9th <br />Addition were constructed without lining materials, allowing infiltration of stormwater runoff <br />into the underlying soils; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />current stormwater management and wellhead protection standards <br />prohibit the infiltration of stormwater into Wellhead Protection Areas, which encompasses both <br />ponds within Ramsey Town Center 9th Addition; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the City Engineer prepared final plans and specifications for <br />constructing pond lining improvements in both ponds to comply with current stormwater <br />management and wellhead protection standards; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />pursuant to Ramsey City Council Resolution #19-233, adopted <br />September 24, 2019, the City Council accepted final plans and specifications and authorized <br />advertisements for bids for said improvements; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />bids were advertised in the Anoka Union Herald and in Finance and <br />Commerce on October 4, 2019; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />bids were received, opened, and tabulated on October 30, 2019, and the <br />following bids were found to comply with the approved plans and specifications and <br />advertisements for bids; and <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR TOTAL BID <br />JL Theis, Inc. $105,152.00 <br />Sunram Construction, Inc. $112,922.00 <br />Veit & Company, Inc. $117,696.65 <br />Peterson Companies $128,888.00 <br />US SiteWork $131,933.00 <br />New Look Contracting, Inc. $139,752.00 <br />Standard Contracting $146,560.40 <br />Northland Excavating $147,197.75 <br />Engineer’s Estimate $84,371.24 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />the bid of JL Theis, Inc. of Jordan, Minnesota, in the amount of <br />$105,152.00 for the total bid for construction of the proposed improvements in accordance <br />with the approved plans and specifications and advertisements for bids, is the lowest <br />responsible bidder and their bid shall be and hereby is accepted. <br /> <br />
