This notice is given pursuant to Section 7(D) of the <br />Agreement between the City of Ramsey and City of Nowthen, The agreement requires that either party <br />must provide at least two years' written notice to the other party of its intent to terminate. <br />On December 10, 2019, the Ramsey City Council adopted Resolution # 19-251 Establishing Notice of <br />Intent To Terminate the Current Joint Powers Fire Protection Agreement Between the City of Ramsey <br />and the City of Nowthen, and to authorize the City Administrator, in Conjunction with Ramsey Members <br />of the Joint Powers Board, to Enter into Negotiations to Develop a New Agreement for Shared Fire <br />Services. Attached is a copy of the resolution. <br />As indicated in the title and content of the resolution, the City of Ramsey is taking this action while <br />expressing our interest in continuing shared fire services of some type, subject to negotiation of a <br />mutually acceptable agreement. <br />On behalf of the City of Ramsey, we sincerely appreciate the long-standing commitment of both of our <br />cities to provide quality fire service to our residents.
