I: OLTON & M N K, <br /> Consulting Engineers & Surveyors <br /> 1960 Premier Drive * Mankafo, MN ,56001-5900 <br /> Phone (507) 62,5-4171 * FAX (507) 625-4177 <br /> <br />February 9, 2005 <br /> <br />Brian Olson, City Engineer <br />City of Ramsey <br />15153 Nowthen Blvd, NW <br />Ramsey, MN 55303-6140 <br /> <br />RE: Water Supply Wells No. 7 and 8 <br /> <br />Dear Brian, <br /> <br />As per our discussions, I have prepared a proposal for performing the following tasks for the Design and <br />Construct/on of Wells No. 7 and 8. <br /> <br />Task 1 - Construct Test Well <br />In this task, a test well will be constructed to verify the aquifer formation in the vicinity of proposed water <br />supply wells No. 7 and No. 8. We would use E.H. Renner & Sons as our subcontractor for the <br />construction of the test well. <br /> <br />Task 2 - Water Supply Wells and Pump, Wells No. 7 and No. 8 <br />ha this task, we will perform the following items for the design and construction of water supply wells <br />No. 7 and No. 8: 1) coordinate and assist the City staff in processing and obtaining all necessary permits <br />and approvals from the Minnesota Department of Health (MDI-r), DNR and other agencies; 2) provide <br />engineering documents to secure a qualified contractor to construct the water supply well and obtain <br />approval from MDH, DNR and other agencies; 3) perform bidding services to include issuing plans and <br />spccifications to bidders, answer questions from the bidders, attend bid opening, and prepare bid' <br />evaluation and recommendation; 4) provide necessary construction engineering .services to include the <br />review of shop drawings, and provide periodic on-site construction observation services dur/ng the <br />drilling of the new well to ensure that the well is constructed according to the State of Mirmesota <br />Dcpartmcnt of Health requirements; 5) provide periodic on-site construction observation services during <br />the installation of the well pump and associated controls; and 6) coordinate and assist the City staffin <br />reviewing the well driller's construct/on payment requests, and coordinate with the well driller to ensure <br />all as-built drawings and equipment operation manuals are provided. <br /> <br />Task 3 - Well House No. 4 <br />/aa this task, we would perform the following major items: I) provide engineering documents in order to <br />secure a qualified contractor to construct a well house with flow metering and chemical feed equ/pment; <br />2) perform bidding services; 3) provide periodic on-site construction observation services during the well <br />house construction; 4) coordinate assisting the City in reviewing the payment requests; and 5) coordinate <br />with the contractor to ensure all as-built drawings and equipment operation manuals are provided. <br /> <br /> · ey,\ I onLT4-Well No 74.doe <br />MANC~(~, ~'~1~ · FAIRMONT, MN ' <br /> <br />SLEEPY EYE, MN - BURNSVILLE, MN · WILl_MAR.
