Action: <br /> <br />Motion to ratify the recommendation of the Public Works Committee and adopt attached <br />resolution Receiving Report and Calling for a Public Hearing on Improvement Project <br />~05~24. <br /> <br />CASE #2 <br /> <br />Consider Request by Anoka County Highway Department to Approve <br />Construction Plans for CRl16 Project <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Staff indicated that Anoka County is in the final stages of preparing plans for a project <br />anticipated to take place late this summer which includes the signalization of the <br />intersection of CR 116 and Dysprosium Street/Thurston Avenue and the creation of a four <br />lane, divided roadway section between this intersection and TH 47. A set of final plans <br />have been prepared and presented to the City for review and the County has requested that <br />the City authorize signature of these plans. The Committee received several plan sheets, <br />wh ich illustrate thc major design elements of the project. Several significant elements are: <br /> <br /> The project will not be done under traffic, but will be closed to through traffic to <br /> facilitate q u icker and less costly construction. <br /> Barium Street (a private roadway into the mallard Ponds subdivision) will be <br /> closed. <br /> · A median will be installed from TH 47 to Iodine Street, which will prevent left <br /> turns from streets and private drives throughout the section, except at Dysprosium <br /> Street. <br /> A trail section along the north side of CR 116 will be reconstructed and extended <br /> west to Germanium Street. <br /> <br />Motion to recommend to City Council that staff be authorized to sign the plans for the <br />CSA Iq 116/Thurston Avenue/Dysprosium Street project. <br /> <br />Action: <br /> <br />R ati fy the recommendation of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />CASE #3 <br /> <br />Update on Acquisition of Easements Necessary for Mississippi <br />Drainage Subdistrict 101 <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In 2000 a taxing district, known as Mississippi Subdrainage District Nol, was established <br />to provide storm sewer service to an area bounded by Highway 10 on the south; the <br />railroad tracks on the north; the eastern City limits on the east; and Sunfish Lake <br />Boulevard on the west. The initial portion of the storm sewer was installed for the portion <br />of thc district cast of The Outpost in 2001. The second phase of the installation, which will <br /> <br /> <br />
