City Administrator <br />Professional Development Plan 2020 <br />Areas of Focus <br />The following areas of focus reflect specific areas of development identified in the CheckPoint <br />360 assessment feedback tool. For 2020, the City Administrator is to focus on listening to <br />others, communicating effectively, and thinking creatively, while pursuing the accomplishment <br />of the following priority tasks: <br />1. Highway 10 Corridor Improvement <br />• Coordinate local, state and federal legislative efforts to secure funding. <br />• Monitor Highway 10 Planning project. <br />• Strengthen Highway 10 coalition relationships between cities, counties, state, and the <br />business community of Ramsey. <br />• Improve and expand citizen outreach to improve awareness and understanding of this <br />project. <br />2. Long-term Road Funding <br />• Coordinate long-term road funding plan with public, commissions, council, and city <br />staff. <br />• Work with above to develop and implement preferred plan for 2021 budget year. <br />• Communicate issues and planned solutions to public. <br />3. Public Works Campus/Water Treatment Plant <br />• Address financing of new buildings. <br />• Develop short and long-term implementation plans. <br />4. City-wide Communication and Branding <br />• Improve signage and branding of major commercial areas. <br />• Replace and add additional dynamic community display signs. <br />• Address the historic Town Hall and find third party user for historic building. <br />• Improve Municipal Center and License Center signage. <br />• Focus on City not just the COR. <br />5. Innovation and Creativity <br />• Actively sponsor and promote creative and innovative initiatives and programs that <br />are aligned with the City's mission to provide quality cost-effective services, by <br />• Providing cost savings and/or enhanced services, or <br />• Promoting and enhancing the City's brand and image, or <br />• Increasing citizen engagement and participation. <br />Reviewed by City Council February 24, 2020 <br />
