also be considered such as landowner actions that may have exacerbated <br />the problem and any other properties that could benefit from the solution. <br />Engineering/Technical Assistance — Funding is available through the MCD <br />Non -Point Engineering Assistance Program (NPEAP) and the Enhanced <br />Technical Assistance (ETA) program to build internal capacity within <br />SWCDs and fund contracts with consulting engineers for the design of <br />conservation practices. Requests must be made through ACD for projects <br />in Anoka County. <br />Local Water Planning (LWP) — ACD applies for and manages LWP <br />implementation funds through the BWSR Natural Resources Block Grant <br />(NRBG). These funds help offset the cost of assisting WMOs with <br />implementation of their water plans. Anoka County receives approximately <br />$8,000 to be shared among the water management entities. <br />WCA Administration — ACD applies for and distributes funds through the <br />NRBG to reimburse LGUs a portion of the cost of implementing the WCA. <br />Approximately $63,000 is available for Anoka County LGUs, which covers <br />approximately 25% of reported expenses. <br />Subsurface Sewage Treatment System — ACD applies for and distributes <br />funds through the NRBG to reimburse LGUs a portion of the cost of <br />implementing SSTS related programs. <br />01 , L £ Subsurface Sewage Treatment System Upgrades — ACD <br />TrFt secured funds through the MPCA to assist landowners <br />that meet income eligibility limits with the upgrade of failing <br />septic systems. Priority is given to systems that are likely to be polluting <br />public water bodies. <br />Well Sealing Cost Share — ACD was awarded funds to <br />cost -share the targeting sealing of unused wells. Owners <br />of properties that have been identified as likely of having <br />and unused well that are within a Drinking Water Supply Management Area <br />or Well Head Protection Zone will be contacted directly with notice of the <br />opportunity. Sufficient funds have been provided to seal approximately 125 <br />of the 2,500 suspected wells. <br />ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE <br />Grant Administration — ACD has become proficient with administration of <br />41 <br />
