Bridge Rehabilitation/Replacement <br />Definition: A bridge rehabilitation or replacement project located on a non -freeway principal arterial or <br />A -minor arterial functionally classified roadway, consistent with the latest TAB -approved functional <br />classification map. Bridge structures that have a separate span for each direction of travel can apply for <br />both spans as part of one application. <br />The bridge must carry vehicular traffic but may also include accommodations for other modes. Bridges <br />that are exclusively for bicycle or pedestrian traffic must apply under one of the Bicycle and Pedestrian <br />Facilities application categories. Rail -only bridges are not eligible for funding. Completely new bridges, <br />interchanges, or overpasses should apply in the Roadway Expansion application category. <br />Examples of Bridge Rehabilitation/Replacement Projects: <br />• Bridge rehabilitation of 20 or more feet with a sufficiency rating less than 80 and classified as <br />structurally deficient or functionally obsolete. <br />• Bridge replacement of 20 or more feet with a sufficiency rating less than 50 and classified as <br />structurally deficient or functionally obsolete. <br />Scoring: <br />Criteria and Measures Points % of Total <br />Points <br />1. <br />Role in the Regional Transportation System and Economy <br />Measure A - Distance to the nearest parallel bridge <br />Measure B - Connection to Total Jobs, Manufacturing/Distribution <br />Jobs, and post -secondary students <br />Measure C - Regional Truck Corridor Study tiers 65 <br />2.
