CASE

RECEIVE QUOTES FOR CONFERENCE ROOM TABLE AND CHAIRS FOR
CITY HALL CONFERENCE ROOM; SELECT QUOTE.
By: Kim Moore-Sykes, Assistant City Administrator

Background:

On May 1,2001, the Engineering Department was moved upstairs to what had previously
been the Council Chambers. Engineering has one-half of that large room; therefore, the
City Hall now has an opportunity to utilize the remaining portion of the Chambers as a
conference room.

Observation:

Staff was directed to look into purchasing a conference room table and chairs. Staff
specified a boat-shaped table large enough to seat twelve (12) participants and the
corresponding number of conference chairs. It was determined that since these chairs will
not be used as task or work station chairs, the conference chairs were required to only
have lever height adjustment option.

The following are the companies that submitted quotes for a conference table, chairs or
both table and chairs.

Company
Commercial Environments, Inc.

Table
$1,193.00

Chairs (12)
$172.80/ea.; $2,073.60

Innovative Furniture Solutions

$1,449.00 Not available for agenda.*

Office Depot

Not available. $ 337.00 ea.; $4,044.00

General Office Products** (estimate) $1,000

$ 350.00 ea.; $4,200.00

* The sale representative indicated that she would have prices for the City Council
meeting. Staff will distribute this information at that time.

** These prices were only estimates from the'catalogue. Staff was unable to personally
speak to a sale representative. If more information becomes available, again Staff will
distribute at the Council meeting.

$6,000 was authorized in the 2001 General Fund Budget for a conference table and
chairs.
