AI)OI'T 2005 5-YEAR STRATEGIC GOALS AND 2005 WORKPLAN AND OBJECTIVES <br /> By: James E. Norman, City Administrator <br />Background: <br /> <br /> In February 2005, City Council and Management Team members participated in an annual <br />Strategic Planning Session. One of the outcomes of the Strategic Planning Session is the development <br />oi' 5~-ycar goals and specific performance points to be addressed in 2005-2006. The specific <br />performance points tbr 2005-2006 have been incorporated into the 2005 Workplan and Objectives. <br />Bolh of these dc)cumcnts have been reviewed during Council work session and revised as requested <br />and arc now ready for adoption by City Council. <br /> <br /> This case was originally presented on April 12th, 2005, however there were some questions by <br />Crmncil, and duc to the absence of the City Administrator and Asst. City Administrator, those <br />questions wore not able to be addressed. Staff has identified in shading the portions of the Work Plan <br />amd O[2iectives that reflect the 2005 Strategic Planning Session Goals. Shading was added to the 2005 <br />Strategic Iqanning Goals to identify the revisions to the goals which included removing the 2008 <br />Comp Plan update as a goal (formerly no. 8) and moving the technology plan up to Goal No. 8. The <br />2f)/)8 Comp l'lan update was added to Goal No. 3 (Implement a plan for Urban Growth). Goal No. 8 <br />('l'cchnology I)lan) was also incorporated into goals No. 1 and No. 4. Staff has also included the 2004 <br />Strategic Planning (ioals which identify the action steps with regard to Goal No. 2 (Create and protect <br />an interconnected system (¢f athletic areas, parks, trails, and green spaces throughout the City.) <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> By motion, adopt 2005 5-Year Strategic Goals and 2005 Work Plan and Objectives. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> By motion, adopt 2005 5-Year Strategic Goals and 2005 Work Pan and Objectives. <br /> <br />Revicwctl by: <br />Asst.
