Council Business <br /> <br />Mayor (;amec called the regular City Council meeting back to order at 7:28 p.m. <br /> <br />(;ouncilmember Elvig asked if the City has a policy regarding the mix of industries. He <br />commended l';conomic Development Consultant Mulrooney and Economic Development/TIF <br />f-¢pcciatist Sullivan on the job they have done spreading out the industries in the City. <br /> <br />[',conomic Development Consultant Mulrooney indicated the mix of industries in the City is a <br />conscious decision to diversify. <br /> <br />Motioiq by Councihnember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to authorize a business <br />subsidy agreement with Martin Land Management, LLC, and to authorize execution of a <br />development agreement with Martin Land Management, LLC, contingent upon review by the <br />('ily A~torney. <br /> <br />[.'urther discussion: Mayor Gamec commented there are several businesses in the City working <br />'together and complimenting each other. Councilmember Cook stated he would like to express <br />gratitude to the EDA on this project. Road improvements and sewer and water were brought to <br />this aroa to make this site better for industry. There have been much better projects because of <br />those improvements. A doubling of the work force and the tax base in this area is a tremendous <br />thing l'or thc EDA to take responsibility for. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Elvig, Jeffrey, Cook, Olson, <br />I>carscm~ and Strommen. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Adopt Ordinance to Rezone Certain Property from R-2 Medium Density <br />Residential to PUD; Case of Brightkeys, Inc. <br /> <br />(/.ommunity Developmcnt Director Trudgeon explained Brightkeys, Inc. has requested that the <br />(lily consider rezoning a portion of their property from R-2 Medium Density Residential to <br />Planned Unit Development (PUD) in order to allow for a combination of single-family lots and <br />townhomcs and lot standard deviations, as a part of Town Center Gardens 3rd Addition. He <br />indicated on March 3~d, the Planning Commission held a public hearing and recommended <br />approval of the request. On April 12th, the City Council introduced the ordinance. The <br />ordinance is now eligible for adoption. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Olson, to adopt Ordinance #05- <br />i0 lo rezone the subject property from R-2 Medium Density Residential to PUD, based on the <br />findings of l~ct. <br /> <br />call vote was performed by the Recording Secretary: <br /> <br />¢7ouncilmember Cook aye <br />~;otmcilmcmber Elvig aye <br /> <br />City Council/April 26, 2005 <br /> Page 6 of 23 <br /> <br /> <br />
