CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, March 15, 2005, <br />at the Ramsey Fire Station Number I, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Mary Jo Olson <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br /> <br />M embers Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Brian Olson <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 7:17 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVEAGENDA <br /> <br />Thc agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Review of Council Chamber Design for New Municipal Design <br /> <br />Bill Baxley of BKV Group, Inc. reviewed the design of the council chambers and the council <br />dais with the City Council. He explained the design includes a thickened wall system that <br />utilizes a displacement ventilation system. The design includes wood panels and acoustical <br />panels. There will be the ability to switch out any wood section to acoustical panel to tune the <br />room as desired. The dais will be two levels. Behind the dais will be areas carved out for <br />storage and each Councilmember will have a storage cabinet. Items still being studied are <br />microphones and the method of projection for audience viewing. He requested input from the <br />Council regarding the location for the podium, which will primarily be utilized by the public. He <br />explained it will be a mobile unit, but there will be a location for it to be plugged in. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec suggested the podium be located in the center. <br /> <br />City Council Work Session/March 15, 2005 <br /> Page 1 of 9 <br /> <br /> <br />
