March 5, 2005

rlb: The Honorable Thomas Gamec, Mayor
Council Members, Mary Jo Olson, Todd Cook,
Sarah Strommen, David Jeffrey, David Elvig,
A1 Pearson

At tt~e Ramsey Planning Commission on March 3, 2005 a number of
residents provided input relative to the Comprehensive Plan Amendments for
Sweet Bay Ridge and the Brookfield Addition. The residents expressed
concerns, not ordy about the indMdual developments being proposed, but
also the overall planning and direction of development and growth within the
City of Ramsey. We feel that a number of points to ponder were expressed
not only by the residents, but also by the Planning Cow-mission membcn's.
We request, in the strongest way possible, that you review the closed circuit
recording of the meeting to see for yourselves the concerns, reservations and
suggestions discussed, before mmking your f'mal decision on the ma~.

The members of the Plamaing Commission voted to recommend denial of
both projects based on their reservations of the City of Ramsey's growth and
direction..

Growth within the residential areas of Ramsey is inevitable and we concur
thru planned and controlled _growth is good for the City. Our concern is that
the Comprehensive Plan does not address multiple development proposals
oflbred. An organized and detailed study of the Comprehensive Plan needs
to be completed prior to amendment.

you for your efforts for the r,;~,
