M~lrch l 0, 2005

'i'o: Mayor Thomas Gamec
Council Members: Mary Jo Olson, Todd Cook
Sarah Strommen, David Jeffrey, David Elvig, A1 Pearson

My husband Mike and I attended the Planning Commission Meeting held on March 3,
2005. I sat and reflected the education I was receiving byjust being present. For that, I
would like to Thank You as a Committee for allowing citizens to attend and grow.

As I sat and listened to both the citizens of Ramsey and the members on the Planning
Commission, I needed to ask myself a few questions .....

l. Who and how are these decisions made on the following:

How bad do the roads need to be before anything is done? From what I gathered
from both sides, our roads and highways are already over abused and we want to
add more traffic on them?

How many students need to be in an already over crowded classroom or
transferred to a different location before it is considered OVERCROWDED and a
new school is needed. Mr. Peterson himself was a teacher I understand on the
board and he informed us that Ramsey will not build until the need is there...
Maybe we should be asking some of the teachers, parents, bus drivers and
students themselves that need extra help and are falling between the cracks due to
the over crowded what they think and feel.. They are our leaders tomorrow and
are we giving them all we can now?

..

ttow many more people in a square mile are we going to be adding for the police
to cover and help when the force is already stretched to the limits. There is talk of
a ramp going up at the City Center. Will that be for more police?

5. I am very confused on how Mr. Peterson perceives Transition and would like a
ciarification on that.

[ do not have a problem with growth and development as I have stated before but
thcre seems to be so many questions that appear backwards rather than forward. I
would ask ALL of you to PLEASE watch and review the tape on the Planning
Commission Meeting and hear the concerns of not only the citizens but also the
concerns of the members on the Planning Commission themselves.

Then after reviewing the tape of the meeting, I would ask each of you to respond
within yourself with an honest clear conscious and say that to proceed with this
t?ro. bosal is good and right. I myself cannot do it due to the fact there is
just
too
many
