For the past two weeks, the City Council has <br />been discussing the creation of an interim policy to assist Staff, the Planning Commission, and <br />City Council when considering proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan land use plan <br />until the overall Comprehensive Plan update is completed later this year. At their last work <br />session, the City Council agreed in principal to the policY. Attached is the policy the Council <br />adopted on April 12, 2005. The Planning Commission members will note that there are specific <br />,~'riteria for the City to consider when reviewing a Comprehensive Plan Amendment. The <br />Commission should fktrther note that consideration of Comprehensive Plan Amendments will <br />now occur at the same time as preliminary plat review. This will allow everyone involved in the <br />dccision-making process to be better informed on the effects of the proposed amendment. A <br />copy of~ the policy is attached for your information. <br /> <br />Past Planning Commission Cases: In the month of April, the City Council considered the <br />following items: <br /> <br />Granted preliminary plat and site plan approval of Town Center Gardens 3~d Addition <br /> <br />Adopted an ordinance to rezone certain property from R-2 to Town Center 4A for Town <br />Center Gardens 3rd Addition <br /> <br />Adopted an ordinance to rezone certain property from R-2 to PUD for Town Center <br />Gardens 3~d Addition <br /> <br />Adopted an ordinance to amend the TC-2 Zoning District regarding accessory gas <br />operations for Corborn's Grocery Store <br /> <br />'Fabled the request for Interim Use Permit from Robert Guzzo, to provide time to refine <br />the Findings of Fact <br /> <br />Approved the preliminary plat for Town Center 5th Addition for the Municipal Center <br /> <br />Approved the preliminary plat and preliminary site plan of Town Center 6th Addition, <br />¥own Center LLC and D.R. Horton Homes <br /> <br />Tabled the proposed ordinance to amend the Town Center Zoning District regarding <br />driveway lengths and front yard setbacks, to be taken up at a Council work session <br /> <br /> <br />
