PLANNING COMMISSION
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, August 7, 2001, at
the Ramsey Fire Station #2, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota.

Members Present:

Vice Chairperson Bill Kociscak
Commissioner Robert Johnson
Commissioner Michael Reeve
Commissioner Kathleen Sweet
Commissioner Eric Watson

Absent:

Chairperson Michael Nixt

Also Present:

Cormnunity Development Director Sylvia Frolik
City Engineer Steve Jankowski
Principal Planner Patrick Trudgeon
Community Development Assistant Megan Wald

CALL TO ORDER

Vice Chair Kociscak called the regular meeting to order at 7:27 p.m.

CITIZEN INPUT

Greg Becker, 15430 Nowthen Boulevard, stated his proposal to change his zoning was tabled at
the last meeting. He questioned when the City Council would take action on the comprehensive
plan.

Community Development Director Frolik explained the Council will take action some time after
it is passed from the Planning Commission to the Council.

Principal Planner Trudgeon added that the Council is holding meetings between themselves to
discuss the Comprehensive Plan. It is likely the Council will not take action on the
comprehensive plan until at least September.

Mr. Becker stated his goal is to have his idea to have his property classified as multi-family
rather than low density passed onto the Council as part of the new comprehensive plan. He
clarified that the Commission is contemplating putting their discussion of the Comprehensive
Plan off until the September meeting because of the heavy case load this evening.

Planning Commission/August 7, 2001
