Tim Bergerson, applicant, stated there is no traffic at his residence, besides himself, lie does not <br />employ anyone and is requesting the sign for advertisement. His lot is 15 acres. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson pointed out that 167th Avenue is a major street. <br /> <br />Roy Burgoon, 6031 167th Avenue N.W., next door neighbor to Mr. Bergerson, stated that Mr. <br />Bergerson has done a neat job of screening any equipment he has in the back yard and his sign. <br />He balanced the screening with flowers. Mr. Burgoon stated he has lived there 20 years and has <br />not heard any complaints about what Mr. Bergerson is doing. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Reeve, seconded by Commissioner Johnson, to close the public <br />hearing. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Vice Chair Kociscak, Commissioners Reeve, Johnson, Sweet, and <br />Watson. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Nixto <br /> <br />The public hearing closed at 8:54 p.m. <br /> <br />Commission Business <br /> <br />Vice Chair Kociscak called the regular meeting of the Planning Commission back to order at <br />8:54 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Johnson asked if 167th Avenue was a city street and Community Development <br />Director Frolik stated it is a municipal state road. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Johnson, seconded by Commissioner Watson, to recommend that City <br />Council adopt Findings of Fact favorable to the applicant and approve Mr. Bergersen's request <br />for a conditional use permit to display an advertising sign at 6211 167th Avenue N.W. <br /> <br />Motion Carried. Voting Yes: Vice Chair Kociscak, Commissioners Johnson, Watson, Reeve, <br />and Sweet. Voting No: None. Absent: Chairperson Nixt. <br /> <br />Case #5: <br /> <br />Request for a conditional Use Permit to Exceed Sign Allotments; Case of <br />M&G Leasing <br /> <br />Vice Chair Kociscak closed the regular portion of the Planning Commission meeting at 8:56 p.m. <br />in order to call the public hearing to order. <br /> <br />Public Hearing <br /> <br />Vice Chair Kociscak called the public hearing to order at 8:56 p.m. <br /> <br />Planning Commission/August 7, 2001 <br /> Page 12 of 25 <br /> <br /> <br />
