Community Development Assistant Wald stated the City requires screening immediately around
the commercial vehicles. She explained that Mr. Lind could put fencing on his property, and put
the vehicles in there. Again, he must use a Class V parking pad.

Andy Pregler, 14290 Alpaca Street, Ramsey, stated he lives behind this property. He expressed
his concern that if this garage is built, it will be filled and Mr. Lind will accumulate more items
behind the new garage, which will bring the outdoor storage closer to their common property
line.

Larry Johnson, 7929 142'~d Avenue, Ramsey, stated his property is adjacent to the property in
question. He has lived there two years. When he purchased the home, he thought he would look
at pine trees and blue skies, and now he will see a pole building. He said he would strongly
oppose this request.

Larry Lund, 14322 Alpaca Street, Ramsey, stated his property is behind the property in question.
He stated his concern was regarding storage of additional accumulated items. He said he has a
hobby car and has no problem with others having hobby cars. However, he feels he sees blight
when he drives by this property.

Lynn Litchfield, 8101 144th Avenue N.W., Ramsey, stated she has looked at this mess for years.
She has seen 14 cars at a time and now there are semi trucks in the back. She suggested that if
this is a business, it should move to commercial property. She found it hard to believe that all
the vehicles are licensed. She said she was hoping that when the other garage was built, that
these cars would go inside it.

Lisa Pederson, 14401 Armstrong Boulevard, Ramsey, explained she lives on the north side of
this property. She has been there five years. She said she has counted the cars in the driveway
and at times there are 12 to 14. She counted 6 cars one day. She added that none of them had
moved in years and they are not tabbed nor licensed. She thought all the cars would be moved
into the garage when it was built. It took several years for that garage to be finished, and then
nothing was moved into it. There is leftover lumber, shingles and miscellaneous items on the
property from the construction of this garage. She stated she is single and works hard to keep her
property up. She mentioned Mr. Lind has not kept up his lawn, though about two weeks ago he
has started to clean up and mow. She added that she has no problem with his hobbies but
suggested he move farther out of the City if he needs all this equipment. She said she agrees
with a concern another neighbor voiced regarding the possibility of more stuff accumulating
outside the garage. He has been sent citations, though nothing is done. She said she found it
difficult to believe that the City would consider approving this garage when over the years
citations meant nothing for him.

Bob Brown, 7854 142nd Avenue N.W., Ramsey, stated he strongly agrees with the comments
made. He agreed that the property values are declining.

Planning Commission/August 7, 2001
