She confirmed that staff can <br />reach out to both vendors and review the details. <br /> <br />Councilmember Menth asked when the contracts were signed for those vendors. He asked if staff <br />could provide financial costs for the potential modified events when this case comes back before <br />the Council. <br /> <br />Communications and Events Coordinator Thorstad stated that the concert vendor is the first vendor <br />signed and typically occurs immediately following the previous year’s event. She noted that <br />contract was booked in late 2019. She stated that the 5k vendor is typically obtained in January or <br />February. She confirmed that staff could provide the financial estimates for modified events. <br /> <br />Economic Development Manager Sullivan reviewed the remaining information related to events <br />within the staff report. He provided details on how a modified business appreciation event could <br />occur. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Riley commented that the business appreciation events seem like great ideas. <br /> <br />Councilmember Heinrich stated that she likes the idea of using both golf courses in Ramsey for <br />the event and the idea of networking suggested. She was unsure that people would participate in <br />the online version for recognition but stated that she does like the grab and go dinner idea. <br /> <br />Economic Development Manager Sullivan recognized that it is a different format but stated that <br />whether the recognition event is live or taped, there could be different options that could be utilized <br />that could garner interest. He stated that the material could then be packaged to view online. He <br />stated that staff believes that it can work out the details to still make this a cool event. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Riley stated that perhaps a short video clip be played at each hole for the hole <br />sponsors. He confirmed the consensus of the Council to direct staff to proceed with the modified <br />business appreciation event. <br /> <br />Parks and Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood stated that staff does not believe that <br />the summer concert series could move forward under the current guidelines. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kuzma stated that a survey was done within the Ramsey Foundation and the <br />consensus was that there is not sufficient staffing to ensure social distancing could be followed. <br />He stated that the Foundation members recommended canceling the event. <br /> <br />Councilmember Heinrich commented that this is an outdoor activity that could be done in a <br />modified manner. She stated that Big Lake is holding its concert series in a modified timeline of <br />July and August. She stated that earlier this year the community gave her a hard time because she <br />did not support the part-time recreation specialist position and found it interesting that staff is now <br />speaking about the financial impacts of these events.
