She thought they should try to maintain lhc: green space they have going through Town Center. Planner Wald stated this development is trying to connect to Town Center through a gt'ccn space within the development. Con:mtissi. oner Olds asked on the southeast comer of the map, has there been any discussion that the area would be redeveloped because of Town Center. : Associate Planner Wald stated the whole area is going to be redeveloped as a bigger box comme~'cial re:ea. Chairperson ~lolms thought they needed to set aside some active park use space for this development in the northwestern comer. Commissioner Shryock asked how wet the land was connecting to Itasca north of Alpine Drive. l'arks/Utili, ties Supervisor Riverblood stated it depended on where they were at in the parcel. There could be significant grading in the area and make it an active use area. He thought the area needed to be looked at for entrances and site lines and what the needs would be for the existing and future residents of the area. They need to really look at this space very carefully so they do not box themselves in. He thought part of the space should be along Alpine Drive. Commissioner Ostrum thought they would want some land dedication for park use. Commissioner Shryock thought the trails should be built as they develop the area. She stated at some time the trail will cross the road and they should have a crossing on the road or indication of thc crossing. Case #5: Consider Outdoor Meeting Schedule t'a~'ks/Utilities Supervisor R/verblood explained for many years, the Park and Recreation Comnfission has held regular meetings outdoors in the months of May through September or October ('weather pending). This provided the Commission an opportunity to inspect and con]ment on pm:ks as a group and it afforded residents' access to the Commission on a nc/ght~orhood level. On the occasions of inclement weather, the Commission has conducted the regttlar meetings at 6:30 p.m. at Fire Station #1. The purpose of this case is to confirm the (lomm[ssion's desire for outdoor meetings in 2005 and, if so, what the locations will be.
