Absent: Lehman <br /> <br />The Park Commission reconvened at 7:02 p.m. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Trott Brook GreenWay <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor Riverblood noted since the late 1980's, the City has been pursuing <br />land acquisition along Trott Brook because of its significance as a relatively undisturbed natural <br />resource corridor in Ramsey, and for trail purposes. The acquisitions have been primarily <br />through the Park Dedication process. To supplement this endeavor, the City applied to the state <br />for assistance. As the Commission may recall, lat in 2003, the City received a half million <br />dollars ($500,000) grant from the State of Minnesota. The appropriation is from the Legislative <br />Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCIvlR), which are proceeds from the Environment and <br />Natural Resources Trust Fund. These reimbursement monies are to be used for conservation and <br />trail easements within the Trott Brook Corridor and are available until June 1, 2006. <br /> <br />Mo~'~on by Commissioner Olds, secon'~ded by Commissioner Ostrum, to table ~his item. <br /> <br />Motion carded. Absent: Lehman <br /> <br />Case #2: Consider Park and Trail Dedication for Shade Tree Cottages <br /> <br />Civil Engineer ti Linton stated Shade Tree Communities; LLC has submitted the preliminary plat <br />for Shade Tree Cottages. The project is at the north end of Potassium Street, which is <br />unimproved. The existing street will need to be improved to serve this development and the <br />adjacent Rum River Estates. The proposed street improvements are included in these plans. The <br />project will connect to 157th Lane using the existing Radium street stub. This project is irt the <br />Oak Recreation district. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns stated she saw in the write up that a trail will be needed along Nowthen <br />Boulevard. She wondered how they will do this with the wetland. <br /> <br />Civil Engineer 71I Linton stated the trail Will be in the County right-of-way and appears to be <br />feasible. He stated along with the internal trails, staff is recommending a trail and easement be <br />constructed for public access out onto Nowthen Boulevard. He stated there will need to be a <br />sidewalk along the southern cul-de-sac. The northern cul-de-sac is private. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ostmm asked if they do not put a sidewalk in, is there any additional monies due <br />to the Park Commission.
