CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Topic Report: Update on New Municipal Center <br />Bids and Discussion of Change Order Process <br />During Construction <br />By: Heidi A. Nelson, Asst. City Administrator <br /> <br />Municipal Center Bidding Process <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Bid opening for the new Ramsey Municipal Center was held on Thursday, May 5th. As <br />mentioned in last week's Weekly Update, the bidding process went very well, with 141 <br />bidders for 28 bid divisions. As of the preparation of this report, work still continues on <br />verifying the bids and contractor qualifications. Cheryl Badinger from 3D/I will provide <br />a report to Council during the May 17th work session regarding the bid results. Staff <br />anticipates preparing a case for the May 24th Council agenda to consider authorizing the <br />contracts with the successful bidders. <br /> <br />Municipal Center Construction Process <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Staff' would also like to discuss the change order process with Council during the May <br />17th work session. Two samples of how the levels of authority may be established are <br />attached for Council review. Staff has discussed both options and would like to discuss <br />SAMPLE TWO with the Council in more detail.
