Our Speal(ers <br /> <br />Kyle Uphoff is the Manager of Regional Analysis and Outreach <br />at the MN Dept. of Employment and Economic Development <br />(DEED). Kyle holds a Masters De9ree in Public Policy from the <br />University of Minnesota Humphrey Institute and has completed <br />graduate work in Biochemistry at Indiana University. Kyle and <br />other members of the Regional Analysis Unit act as consultants <br />to groups involved in all facets of workforce development. They <br />also act as extension educators ~ providin9 publications and <br />presentations on issues relatin9 to regional labor markets. <br />Kyle's research interests include the determination of labor force <br />availability, recessionary impacts on regional industries, technol- <br />ogy issues and industry clusters. <br /> <br />Jim Wrobleski is currently Minnesota DEED's Northeast <br />Regional Administrator. Previous to this assignment, Jim was <br />DEED's Economic Development Regional Representative to the <br />northeast region. Jim also works as an Adjunct Instructor for the <br />University of Minnesota, Duluth teaching Marketing Principles <br />and International M~irketin9 in the Management Studies <br />Department in the Labovitz School of Business and Economics. <br /> <br />Previous to his work with DEED, Jim worked in local and regiom <br />al economic development marketin9, first as Director of the <br />Koochichin9 County Economic Development Authority, then as <br />Director of Marketin9 for the Northspan Group, Inc. Before his <br />involvement in economic development, National Business <br />Systems, Inc., an Eagan, MN data processin9 services company, <br />employed Jim as a Branch Manager in a number of territories <br />across the US where he had management and trainin9 respon- <br />sibilities for both sales and production staff. <br /> <br />Jim holds a Bachelor of Science from Minnesota State <br />University, Mankato and a Masters of Business Administration <br />from the University of Minnesota. Jim has received his Economic <br />Development Finance Professional Certification from the <br />National Development Council. <br /> <br />24 <br /> <br /> <br />
