MEMO <br /> <br />Case # 5 <br /> <br />DATF,: <br /> <br />FROM: <br />RE: <br /> <br />May 19, 2005 <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) <br /> <br />Megan Wald and Sean Sullivan <br /> <br />Staff Update <br /> <br />Town Center: There are several residential plats that will be reviewed by the Planning <br />Commission and City Council this month and in June. <br /> <br />New Business Prospects: Staff has been in contact with 6 prospects that range from 2-0,000 SF <br />t~ 60,000 SF. The prospects include a bindery, a rigging company, an office user and 3 <br />manufacturers. More details will follow as we gain specifics on the potential projects. <br /> <br />New Developments (residential and commercial): The site plans for Martin EDM and the <br />expansion of RJM were reviewed by the Planning Commission on May 5, 2005 and will be <br />reviewed by thc City Council on Tuesday, May 24th. <br /> <br />Business Grand Openings:. Nothing to report at this time. <br /> <br />Marketing Initiatives: A full case will be presented to the EDA at the June meeting. <br /> <br />Business Comnmnication Initiatives: Nothing new to report at this time. <br /> <br />Community Revitalization Proiects <br /> <br />14040 Azurite St NW: The property known as the "Bakestar" property is undergoing a <br />Iransfimnation. The buildings are completely removed and the site is ready for development. <br />The site plan for Martin EDM is complete and construction of a 10,000 S.F. machine shop will <br />commence during the Summer of 2005. <br /> <br />14140 Azurite ST NW.: The property known as the "Martin" property has also been cleared for <br />dcvelopnmnt. The project will include a 12,000 S.F. two story office structure. The building <br />will be owned by Professional Properties, LLC and occupied by the Accounting firm of Bertolas <br />:md Pekula. <br /> <br />6030 Bunker Lake Boulevard NW: The old farm house and metal, pole building has been <br />removed fi:om the site. The property is being marketed to interested parties including Zero-Zone <br />who is c,)ntemplating an expansion. Stay tuned for further developments. <br /> <br />14280 Sunfish Lake Blvd NW: The "Cox" property was purchased along with the property <br />tttili×cd for Sunfish Lake Business Park. The City has demolished the metal structure. The City <br />will begin to market this property to interested developers over the Summer months. Currently <br />thc -,~t5 is looking at dedicating a portion to'this site for part of a comprehensive drainage plan. <br />The buildable area of the site will be between 1 and 2 acres. <br /> <br />32 <br /> <br /> <br />
