CASE <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE SELECTION OF ARCHITECT FOR <br />RAMSEY TOWN CENTER FITNESS FACILITY <br />By: James E. Norman, City Administrator <br /> <br />llaekground: <br /> <br />'l'he City Council discussed an architect for the proposed fitness center in work session on March <br />~9 and April 5, 2005. It was the consensus of the City Council to seek Requests for Proposals <br />with qualifications prior to selection of an architect. A Request for Proposal (attached) was sent <br />out and two proposals were received. The City Council briefly diScussed the two proposals prior <br />to the Council meeting of May 10, 2005, and asked that staff review the proposals and make a <br />recommendation for the Council meeting of May 24, 2005. <br /> <br />Staff has been reviewing the proposals of Ankeny Kell Architects of St. Paul and D JR Architects <br />Inc. el" Minneapolis. Staff has also sought the input from the Ramsey Town Center Master <br />Developer because of' the relationship the future fitness center will have to the core of the <br />Ramsey Town Center.
