The project will consist of the construction of <br /> 6,330 ti:et of 18 inch pipe with average design flows of 0.73 million gallons.per day (MGD) and 1,460 feet of 21 <br /> inch pipe ti'om MH-[ 0 to the connection point with the existing sanitary sewer system (MH-11) with average <br /> desi[,m flows of 1.1 million gallons per day (MGD). <br /> <br />b. Complete Project Description <br /> The City of Ramsey is proposing to construct an extension of the trunk sanitary sewer sys.tem to the City of <br /> Ramsey's sanitary sewer sub-district M4, west of the Town Center. The project will consist of the construction of <br /> 6,330 t~et of l 8 inch pipe from MHd 0 to MH-58 with average design flows of 0.73 million gallons per day <br /> (MGD) and 1,460 feet of 21 inch pipe from MH-10 io the connection point with the existing sanitary. sewer system <br /> (M H-. i l) with average daily flows of 1.1 million gallons per day (MGD). The project population for sub-district <br /> M4 is 3,321 people. Attached is Figure 1 showing the concept layout of the proposed alignment. Figure 2 shows the <br /> aedat photo of the area. <br /> Whilc, the extension of the'sewer itself will not change the land use, this extension will serve the proposed Pulte <br /> Homes Pine Shadows multi-use development and other developments, which will change the land use. <br /> The main equipment ~br grading the project will be bulldozers, compactors, backhoes and other standard earth~ <br /> moving eqtfipment. The sequence of construction will follow standard practices for conventional land modification <br /> tbr sewer extensions. The construction activities will begin with the installation of erosion control measures, <br /> ~blh)wed by overall site grading and the installation of the sewer pipe and ending with the establishment of a <br /> permanent vegetative cover. <br /> The construction of the sewer extension is proposed to begin during the 2005 construction season. It is estimated <br /> that l year is required to complete all the construction associated with the sewer. Erosion and turf establishment <br /> controls [br construction are required by permitting authorities. <br /> <br />c. Project Purpose ".,., <br /> The proposed sanitary trunk sewer is needed to convey wastewater flow from the south central portion of Ramsey. <br /> B,medciades of the project will include residents and business operators in this area.
