Connexus has received a request and the money for the initial order of 100 light poles
and fixtures from the Master Developer and want City approval of the design of these banners
before placing the order. He explained the poles are designed to accommodate wind loads for
one 2 foot by 4 foot banner as well as any street signs that may be necessary. Staff feels that there
will be considerable discussion on the design of the banners and is recommending that there be
two inserts on the light poles on Sunwood Drive as well as one banner arm included as hardware
for each light pole. Any additional hardware that is necessary for the banner installation will be a
responsibility of the City when banners are ordered in the future. Staff also recommends that the
inserts be located at 8.5 feet and 12.5 feet to provide maximum flexibility for the future banner
design. He presented an example of the insert to the Committee.

Mayor Gamec questioned if the insert will be standard and available to order in the future.

Assistant Public Works Director replied it will be standard and available through Connexus.

Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Mayor Gamec, to recommend to the City Council that
there be two inserts included in each of the poles that are ordered for Sunwood Drive located at 8.5 feet
and 12.5 feet from the elevation of the ground.

Motion carried.
