Chairperson Elvig stated they would like to eventually. Mayor Gamec stated it's a safety issue for the children. Randy Backous, 14148 Argon Street, stated he lives right at that 'T,' and all should understand the traffic problem they have. He stated he appreciates them studying it. He stated it cuts down the traffic flow from Dysprosium, and that is the big problem. However, as soon as you open up to the end of Argon to the townhome development, it will be a freeway. Chairperson Elvig stated they've got a baseline established now, so he can watch what happens as they start to adjust the traffic. He asked if any of these numbers surprised anybody. Public Works Supervisor Reimer stated that the one on Argon did, but that might be a false reading. He stated it is a little too close to the intersection, and it should be backed up. Motion by Councilmember Olson, seconded by Chairperson Elvig, to recommend to City Council that staff be directed to contact the townhouse association to request the temporary opening of the Argon Street gate which would be done in conjunction with the temporary closure of 142nd Avenue east of Argon Street and the barricading of Barium Street north of CR 116, and further recommend that staff prepare and submit a public involvement process to Council for consideration. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig, Councilmember Olson, and Mayor Gamec. Voting No: None. COMMITTEE INPUT 1) Updates to the Improvements on the Public Works Campus Public Works Supervisor Reimer stated they had got their bid on the two buildings, and one was to reside in one of the maintenance shops, and the other one was the temporary office space. He stated the temporary office came in at $79,000. He stated that is for a 28 x 64. The other one was to re-side the big building, and that came in lower. He stated this had been bid a few years ago, which was $180,000, and the low bid had come in at $163,000, and that is the product they are recommending. Public Works Director Kapler stated from 50 feet away, it looks like concrete panels. Public Works Supervisor Reimer stated the roof would be a standing C roof, and they are going to tear off the old roof. He stated that the contractor suggested tearing it off.
