He has worked in both the private and public sectors including positions as Interim <br /> City Administrator and Community Development Director. His work has covered a <br /> broad spectrum of areas and includes playing a significant role in award winning <br /> designs such as the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago, IL. In his current <br /> .__, capacity, Mr. Kaltsas provides a wide array of services including land use <br /> planning, park and trail master planning, playground design, site analysis and <br /> layout, landscape design and planning, urban design,and construction plans and <br /> specifications. <br /> - SIMILAR EXPERIENCE <br /> City of Victoria 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update <br /> Client: City of Victoria, Minnesota <br /> -- Victoria is located approximately 30 miles southwest of downtown Minneapolis <br /> in a rapidly growing area. TKDA and MK Land are working together to develop <br /> the 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update. This plan is currently in process and <br /> will be completed in 2008. The plan will use the previously completed major <br /> _. Comprehensive Plan amendment as the basis for the development of the 2030 <br /> Plan. This plan will include a significant public participation process which <br /> hopes to ensure that the direction of the community is on target. <br /> City of Watertown 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update <br /> Client: City of Watertown, Minnesota <br /> Watertown is located approximately 35 miles west of downtown Minneapolis in <br /> rapidly growing Carver County. MK Land is working to develop the 2030 <br /> Comprehensive Plan Update. The vision of the city will be the basis of this plan <br /> and will be developed by the community through an extensive outreach process <br /> involving a community education series, community collaboration, design <br /> charrettes and a survey. The plan will be completed in 2008. <br /> City of Victoria Major Comprehensive Plan Amendment <br /> Client: City of Victoria, Minnesota EDUCATION <br /> — Mark Kaltsas, in conjunction with TKDA and city staff, completed a major Professional Degrees <br /> amendment to the Comprehensive Plan. Following completion of a series of Landscape Architecture— <br /> special land use studies, an AUAR and several other planning reports, an University of Kentucky,Lexington, <br /> amendment to the Comprehensive Plan was necessary. The process involved Kentucky <br /> considerable public participation from City officials, Township officials, residents <br /> and business owners. The plan includes population projections, mapping, REGISTRATION <br /> phasing,housing and economic development,and by incorporation,sewer system Registered Landscape Architect, <br /> �. and water system components. The plan was designed toprotect and maintain Minnesota,North, Carolina,,Wisconsin,South <br /> y p g Indiana, Sout <br /> _. the rural characteristics that are deeply valued by the community, while meeting Carolina,Oklahoma <br /> the density goals required by the Metropolitan Council. The plan is unique in that it <br /> provided a "floating" MUSA line within the city and surrounding township.
