Public Works Committee 6. 1. <br />Meeting Date: 10/20/2020 <br />By: Bruce Westby, Engineering/Public <br />Works <br />Title: <br />Receive Staff Updates on Improvement Projects, Studies and Items of Interest <br />Purpose/Background: <br />The purpose of this case is to update the Public Works Committee on current and proposed City, County and <br />MnDOT improvement projects and studies, and on other items of interest to the Committee. <br />City Improvement Projects <br />• The COR Regional Infiltration Basin (#18-09) <br />• Punch list work underway, final payment anticipated November 2020 <br />• Ford Brook Estates Street Reconstructions (#19-01) <br />• Punch list work underway, final payment anticipated October 2020 <br />• Wood Pond Hills and Chestnut Ridge Street Reconstructions (#19-03) <br />• Punch list work underway, final payment anticipated November 2020 <br />• Wetland 114P Outlet Control Improvements (#19-07) <br />• Requested by DNR <br />• Construction proposed for 2021 <br />• Hedgehog Street Drainage Improvements (#19-10) <br />• Punch list work underway, final payment anticipated November 2020 <br />• Variolite Street Reconstruction (#20-01) <br />• Sanitary sewer and watermain construction complete <br />• Reclaimed pavement stabilized last week <br />• Base course paving scheduled for late October <br />• Wear course paving weather dependent <br />Anoka County Improvement Projects <br />• Roundabout at Armstrong Boulevard/CSAH 83 and Alpine Drive <br />• Anoka County received $1.35M in HSIP funds (est. project cost = $1.5M) <br />• Anoka County and City of Ramsey share is $150,000 each (per $1.5M est.) <br />• Construction proposed for 2022, pending City and County approvals <br />• CSAH 116 & TH 47 Intersection Improvements <br />• Constructing additional turn lanes to improve congestion and safety in 2021 <br />• JPA will be presented for City Council approval October 27th <br />• Staff will provide a comprehensive update on this project in November <br />MnDOT Improvement Projects <br />• US 10 / 169 & Ferry Street / TH 47 Interchange <br />• Proposed for construction 2022 - 2024 <br />• Ferry Street / Trunk Highway 47 Grade Separation @ BNSF Rail Crossing <br />• Proposed for construction 2022 - 2024 <br />• Preliminary design on hold <br />• MnDOT exploring realignment of Highway 47 to remove S-curve <br />• Requires relocation of Alter Recycling... still in discussions <br />• Rum River Bridge Replacement <br />
