City expand on City Hall. She stated that she thinks that QCTV would be an asset to the City, <br />but she is not comfortable with leasing the property. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he did not know that there is anything significant with the <br />design of the building, but would find that out. He did not think that it was a case of doing <br />something for City Hall or QCTV, but could see using bonds because the City can receive a <br />better interest rate. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak noted that she would not go against anything that the Council would <br />decide. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec inquired if QCTV would be interested in purchasing a building in the City of <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak replied that it did not seem that they were against it, but they do need a <br />facility by the end of summer. She inquired if QCTV approached Mr. Sharp about building a <br />building for them. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharp stated that he did put together some figures for QCTV. He stated that he would be <br />willing to build the building and lease it back with an option <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec inquired if they were to build their own building would they not come out better <br />since they are not a tax entity. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen replied yes. He explained that if the building were to be owned by <br />Sharp and Associates than they would have to pay taxes. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he would be in favor of QCTV locating in the City of Ramsey and <br />would consider using revenue bonds. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that staff could put together some numbers. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired as to how many square feet QCTV would need. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak replied 8,500 square feet. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that he will have staff work on putting together the options in <br />terms of dollars to allow the Council to work with facts. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Hendriksen, seconded by Mayor Gamec, to direct staff to explore the <br />options of QCTV locating in the City of Ramsey and express the desire to assist QCTV in <br />relocating if the figures work out. <br /> <br />City Council/March 20, 2001 <br /> Page 10 of 12 <br /> <br /> <br />
