Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to deny Wayne L. <br />Johnson's request to be reimbursed for the trunk charge development fees in the amount of <br />$7,974 and deny Mr. Johnson's request to be reimbursed for the expenses of capping a four-inch <br />watermain valve in the amount of $3,930. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Hendriksen, Anderson, Kurak, <br />and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #12: Report from the Personnel Committee <br /> <br />Councilmember Anderson stated that the Personnel Committee met on March 27, 2001 and <br />discussed the following cases: <br /> <br />1) Authorize Hiring of Part-Time Building Maintenance Worker <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee recommended that Council authorize the hiring of Larry Anderson for <br />the position of part-time Building Maintenance Worker at a starting wage of $12.25 per hour, <br />contingent upon successful completion of background checks, employment physical, and <br />drug/alcohol screen. <br /> <br />2) Authorizing Hiring of Public Works Maintenance Worker <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee recommended that Council authorize the hiring of Tim Gladhill for the <br />position of full-time Public Works Maintenance Worker at a starting wage of $14.52 per hour <br />plus benefits and two weeks vacation, contingent upon successful completion of backgrourid <br />checks, employment physical, and drug/alcohol screen. <br /> <br />3) Consider Ending Probationary Period of Assistant City Administrator <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee voted to recommend that Council adopt the Resolution (01-03-169) <br />ending probationary period for Kim Moore-Sykes, Assistant City Administrator, and granting her <br />the status of regular full-time employee effective March 6, 2001. <br /> <br />4) Discussion of Commission Vacancies <br /> <br />The Personnel Committee voted to recommend that Council appoint Jon Olds to fill the vacancy <br />on the Park and Recreation Commission, and that interviews be scheduled when both Suzanne <br />Dvorak and Kathleen Sweet could be present (Planning Commission) since Councilmember <br />Kurak had not had an opportunity to interview either candidates. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to ratify the <br />recommendations of the Personnel Committee for Cases 1 through 4. <br /> <br />City Council/March 27, 2001 <br /> Page 22 of 22 <br /> <br /> <br />
