Voting No: None. <br /> <br />3) Update on Water Tower Projects <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that Water Tower No. 2 has been structurally completed and <br />will begin to be painted within a matter of weeks. A number of minor projects need to be <br />undertaken to make this tower fully functional. The final element in addressing the needs of the <br />City's water storage system will be to repaint the City's existing water tower during the fall of <br />2001. The Committee directed that the following actions be taken: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Direct the City Engineering Department to prepare plans and specifications for site <br />improvements and connecting a water main to the new tower. <br />Direct staff to obtain quotations from qualified firms for the installation of hardware and <br />programming modifications to include Water Tower No. 2 to the Supervisory Control and <br />Data Acquisition (SCADA). <br />Accept plans and specifications and order advertisement for bids for the repainting of <br />Water Tower No. 1 itl the fall of 2001, with a painting scheme similar to that recently <br />approved for Water Tower No. 2. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to ratify the recommendations <br />of the Public Works Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Request <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated that the Public Works Committee considered a request from <br />Wayne L. Johnson, representing North Lake Properties, Inc. during its meeting of February 20, <br />2001, and March 20, 2001. The Committee was asked to reimburse the project for trunk charge <br />development fees in the amount of $7,974 and reimburse the expenses for capping a four-inch <br />watermain valve in the amount of $3,930. Mr. Goodrich presented a letter to the Council that he <br />submitted to Mr. Wayne Johnson. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that staff has had a great deal of discussion with Mr. Johnson <br />and he does not feel that he has received a formal answer regarding his request. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if the City Attorney felt that the City Council was <br />obligated to reimburse any of the funds to Mr. Johnson. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich replied no.
