• Northstar Corridor Development Authority-Northstar Corridor
Commuter Rail Planning and Design
This experience helps us to better understand the growth dynamics and
issues facing this part of the Twin Cities.
Diverse Community Planning Experience
HKGi has a broad and diverse resume of successful community planning
prof ects.We bring Ramsey the benefits of lessons learned from community
planning in a variety of places and for a wide range of purposes. This
breadth of experience ensures that we are capable of dealing with all of
the issues that shape the future of Ramsey.
• The City of Edina has called on HKGi for a variety of planning
assignments. In the late 1990's, HKGi led a strategic planning
process for the City. The resulting plan served as the framework
decision making by the City. The strategic plan led to planning
by HKGi for the future of the Greater Southdale Area. HKGi
also designed and led a process for examining local traffic issues
in Edina.
• HKGi's work for the City of Red Wing has many parallels to
Ramsey. To lay the foundation for updating its comprehensive
plan, the City conducted a series of community issues workshops.
These workshops created a vision for the future of Red Wing and
guidance on issues to be explored in updating the Comprehensive
Plan. Following a competitive solicitation and evaluation of
proposals, the City selected HKGi to led the comprehensive plan
update process.
• HKGi worked with the City of Eagan to evaluate potential land
use changes in an important business district. Northeast Eagan
is the home to the headquarters of Northwest Airlines and Cray
Research. The NE Eagan Land Use Study evaluated the land
use, transportation and financial implications of alternative
development scenarios, including the introduction of housing.
The Study provided the City with decision making information
and built consensus on the desired future for this area. An
important outcome of this project was the relationship between
changing land uses and the capacity of the local street system.
These projects show why Minnesota cities turn to HKGi for help in
addressing the most challenging community development issues.
Hoisington Koegler Group Inc.
page 14
