Because the flow was over 1 MGD,the <br /> Minnesota Pollution Control Agency(MPCA)was the Responsible Governmental Unit(RGU)and Bolton <br /> &Menk, Inc. provided all of the supporting information to the MPCA. <br /> The project included evaluation of potential impacts upon Fish, Wildlife and Ecologically Sensitive <br /> .-. Resources, Water Resources, Water Use, Sanitary Sewer Flows, Erosion and Sediment Control, Surface <br /> Water Runoff Quality and Quantity, Geologic Hazards, Solid Wastes, Hazardous Wastes, Storage Tanks, <br /> Traffic, Air Emissions,Odors,Noise, and Dust, Visual Impacts,Nearby Sensitive Areas, Compatibility <br /> with Existing Plans and Land Use Regulations, Impact on Infrastructure and Public Services. <br /> Traffic Impact Studies in the City of Ramsey <br /> Contact:Brian Olson,Director of Public Works <br /> The goal of any transportation authority is to provide a safe and efficient transportation system. Bolton& <br /> Menk, Inc has assisted the City of Ramsey by completing several traffic impact studies,or analysis,to <br /> better understand how developments will impact the transportation network. It is important to ensure that <br /> the roadways operate effectively and efficiently. Traffic Impact Analysis are planning tools used to <br /> ,.� anticipate demands on the transportation network and mitigate the negative impacts. <br /> A Traffic Impact Analysis is a study that determines the f, <br /> effect of a particular development's traffic on the <br /> transportation network. They are used to assist <br /> communities in land use decisions and in allocating <br /> resources to areas that need improvement. By identifying <br /> ,.� potential problems with the proposed development, <br /> strategies to ensure safe and reasonable traffic conditions <br /> can be discussed before the development is approved. <br /> Consequently, when the development is completed,the <br /> ,.� negative impacts of the development are mitigated and the <br /> transportation network can accommodate the development. <br /> �-.
