Councilmember Anderson inquired if the public hearings that are held for the Comprehensive
Plan would not be sufficient to be the public hearings for the rezoning.

City Attorney Goodrich replied that the City would need to advertise for the rezoning which
would not be appropriate to do so until the Comprehensive Plan has been adopted.

Councilmember Hendriksen stated that once a Comprehensive Plan is adopted, which guides a
certain property for a land use, the City has very little latitude in regards to the rezoning which is
why it becomes essential that the Comprehensive Plan guides the City in the way that they want
to go.

Councilmember Anderson replied that the last time the City Council adopted a Comprehensive
Plan the City assumed that the rezoning was automatic which was not the case and so the
property was never rezoned.

Consensus of the Council was that there should be information regarding the Comprehensive
Plan printed in the next issue of the Ramsey Resident including a colored map identifying the
zoning changes.

ANNOUNCEMENT BY MAYOR

Mayor Gamec announced that the next City meeting will be held in the Council Chambers at Fire
Station Number II, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW.
