WHEREAS, the Subject Property remains out of compliance with City Code standards; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, It is City Policy not to allow cars to be ‘triple stacked’ for public safety <br />reasons, and vehicles onsite are tripled and quadruple stacked, and the Public Safety team only <br />supports double stacking of vehicles; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council approved abatement of the Subject Property on October 13, <br />2020. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council approves the following related to the code enforcement case: <br /> <br />a. City Staff will hire abatement contractors to complete abatement of items that are not <br />in compliance with City Code. <br />b. City Staff has the authorization to escalate future fines for the Subject Property starting <br />at $250 for the same violation within one (1) year. <br />c. City Staff should tow any vehicle or junk item that the Public Safety team believes to <br />be a threat to public safety onsite. <br /> <br />2) That the Ramsey City Council hereby directs City Staff not to renew the lease with <br /> Independent Auto. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kuzma, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember Menth <br /> Councilmember Musgrove <br /> Councilmember Specht <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br /> None <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br /> Existing Vacancy <br />RESOLUTION #20-226 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br />
