Voting No: None. <br /> <br />The meeting was recessed at 9:03 p.m. and reopened at 9:12 p.m. <br /> <br />Case #13: <br /> <br />Receive Bids and Award Contract for Improvement Project #05-22, Ramsey <br />Town Center City Phase 2 Segment 1 <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson reviewed that Improvement Project #05-22 consists of <br />bituminous surfacing, drainage improvements, sanitary sewer, watermain and miscellaneous <br />improvements to segments of Zeolite Street, Civic Center Drive and Sapphire Street, which are <br />located south of Sunwood Drive. Authorization to advertise for bids was ordered on April 12, <br />2005 and bids were opened on Friday, May 6, 2005. As part of the Master Development <br />Agreement for the Ramsey Town Center, this is a portion of the City Phase 2 Construction that <br />will be partially assessed to the RTC. He indicated seven bids were received and ranged from <br />$562,096.80 to $741,261.95. The low bidder on the project was W B Miller. W B Miller has <br />worked with the City on a number of occasions and staff is pleased with the service that has been <br />provided. Staff recommends the project be awarded to W B Miller in the amount of <br />$562,096.80. <br /> <br />Councihncmber Cook commended Engineering staff on the bidding process and the estimates, <br />which have been very well prepared and in line with the bids received. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Jeffrey, to adopt Resolution #05- <br />05-133 awarding Project #05-22, Ramsey Town Center City Phase 2 Segment 1, to W B Miller <br />in thc amount of $562,096.80. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #14: Consider Revision of Indemnification Agreements for Ramsey Town Center <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director Olson indicated the work in Ramsey Town Center includes <br />jacking storm sewer pipes under the BSNF rail lines. The City obtained the permits in <br />eonj unction with the Ramsey Town Center, LLC. The City required indemnification agreements <br />which were executed by Shingobee acting as agent for Ramsey Town Center, LLC. The City has <br />learned that Shingobee's involvement in the project is changing, which necessitates a change in <br />the inde~nnification agreements. The revised indemnification agreements name Ramsey Town <br />Center, LLC as the responsible party. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cook asked if this streamlines the process. <br /> <br />Assistant Public Works Director responded in the affirmative. <br /> <br />City Council/May 10, 2005 <br />Page 22 of 31 <br /> <br /> <br />
