[] No
· Yes
If domestic water wells are found to be present within minimum setbacks from the final alignment, they will be
properly abandoned in accordance with Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) regulations regarding separation
requirements.
Soil borings have not yet been completed in the sewer extension project area. Temporary dewatering may be
needed in some areas in order to place the trunk sewer pipe at the required depths. Dewatering wells would be
placed by the construction contractor based on the evaluation ofdewatering needed. It is not yet known if the
volumes of water would be such that a DNR Temporary Dewatering Permit would be required.
Trench dams will be incorporated into the project if necessary to prevent unintentional draining of wetland areas
through or near which the alignment passes. The spacing of trench dams would depend on observed ground water
conditions. Soil borings will be used to check for horizontal confining layers creating a perched wetland that could
be penetrated by the trench and drained. If necessary, a horizontal confining layer of Iow-permeability soils will be
restored.

The enabled development within the City of Ramsey may create the need for additional water supply for the city. A
new water main will be constructed to serve the Sweetbay Ridge and Brookfield developments in subdistricts R2
and RLS-3. Any new wells would'be constructed with MDH and DNR requirements andapprovals.

:.~t 4.,. W a t e r- roi at e
r;~i";~ :'"'r ~:'~ ....
