Councilmember Zimmerman stated that he would be in agreement if the gas tax actually went <br />into the road fund. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that if $200 million is going to be spent on transportation in <br />the area he did not think it should be spent on the North Star Corridor, rather it should be spent <br />on improving the highway system. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to adopt Resolution #01-12-446 <br />endorsing the increase of funding for transportation in Minnesota i£the gas tax is dedicated to the <br />road system. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he would agree with the increase if a <br />majority of the $200 million is going to be spent on the highway system and a minimum of the <br />funds going towards the North Star Corridor. He does not support the increase at the exclusion <br />of roads. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, and Anderson.
