CITY COUNCIL <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, December 11, 2001, at the <br />Ramsey Fire Station Number II, 15050 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Principal Planner Patrick Trudgeon <br />Community Development Assistant Megan Wald <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Police Chief David Gustafson <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the City Council to order at 7:19 p.m. and called <br />upon Councilmember Anderson to lead in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />The City Council held a Closed Session at 5:30 p.m. with the City Attorney prior to the <br />Regular City Council meeting to discuss the City of Ramsey versus Ramsey Holdings et al. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Rich Quall, RYAA, 17001 Helium Street NW, Ramsey, expressed the importance of Elmcrest <br />Park for RYAA. He explained that RYAA has been very involved in the grant process and the <br />City did receive a $100,000 grant because of that involvement. RYAA is concerned that the City <br />will lose the grant if it is not spent by June 2002. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that he had asked that question of staff earlier in the year and <br />did not receive a response. <br /> <br />Mr. Quall stated that the City told them, back in 1998, that a soccer complex would be coming <br />soon. In essence the project has been discussed for four years and they are trying to move it <br />forward. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he would have the Director of Public Works follow up on the issue. <br /> <br />City Council/December 11, 2001 <br /> Page 2 of 25 <br /> <br /> <br />
