Mayor Gamec stated that all of the changes would be presented on January 24, 2001, at a public <br />heating at which time they will hear people's concerns. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he was specifically referring to the rezoning hearing. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that the January 24, 2001 meeting could change the land use map. At this <br />time the land use map is only a proposal. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if the thirteen proposed changes are in addition to the <br />Comprehensive Plan that was submitted to the Met Council in March 2001. <br /> <br />Principal Planner Trudgeon replied that was correct. <br /> <br />Councilmember Zimmerman noted that they would be adding 13 parcels with an increased <br />density. <br /> <br />Principal Planner Trudgeon replied that not all changes were to a higher density. The proposed <br />land use changes were as follows: <br /> <br />· Rum River Golf Course: Consensus of the Council was to change the land use from Rural <br /> Residential to Commercial per the Rum River Hills PUD. <br />· Greg Becker: Principal Planner Trudgeon noted that the developer has talked to four of the <br /> neighboring property owners and they have agreed to a medium density residential <br /> development. Councilmember Anderson inquired if the City had received any written <br /> correspondence from the agreeing neighboring properties. Principal Planner Trudgeon <br /> replied no. Councilmember Anderson requested that the City receive written <br /> correspondences fi'om all neighboting property owners prior to the January 24, 2002 public <br /> hearing. Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he did not see how they could change the <br /> designation of the land without hearing from all of the adjoining neighbors. Mayor Garnet <br /> inquired if there was a consensus that the property should be changed to medium density for <br /> the purpose of the public hearing and then have staff contact the neighboring property owners <br /> prior to the public hearing for comment. Councilmember Hendriksen replied that he felt that <br /> it should be left at low density until comments are heard from the neighbors. <br /> Councilmember Anderson felt that all adjoining property owners should be contacted. <br /> Councilmember Kurak stated that she would agree with changing the land use to medium <br /> density. Mayor Gamec stated that he would agree with changing the land use to medium <br /> density. Councilmember Hendriksen was opposed to changing the land use to medium <br /> density. Councilmember Zimmerman was opposed to changing the land use to medium <br /> density. Councilmember Anderson was opposed to changing the land use to medium density <br /> until all adjoining property owners are notified. Majority consensus was to not change the <br /> land use from Low Density Residential to Medium Density Residential and direct staff to <br /> send out notification to all neighboring property owners. <br />· Bright Keys: Principal Planner Trudgeon noted that currently Bright Keys is in negotiations <br /> for acquiring the property and have requested that the land use be changed from Industrial to <br /> <br />City CounciFDecember 11, 2001 <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
