Medium Density Residential. Councilmember Kurak stated that she agreed with changing <br /> the land use from Industrial to Medium Density Residential. Councilmember Hendriksen <br /> disagreed with changing the land use to Medium Density Residential. Mayor Gamec agreed <br /> with changing the land use to Medium Density Residential. Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> disagreed with changing the land use to Medium Density Residential. Mayor Gamec <br /> requested that notification be sent to the adjacent property owners prior to the January 24, <br /> 2002 public hearing. The property owner spoke out in the audience that he was opposed to <br /> the land use change. Councilmember Hendriksen inquired if the Council was going to agree <br /> to change a land use when the property owner is opposed. Councilmember Anderson agreed <br /> with changing the land use to Medium Density Residential. Majority consensus was to <br /> change the land use for the Bright Keys project from Industrial to Medium Density <br /> Residential. <br /> South of Highway #10 (Anoka/Ramsey Border): Principal Planner Trudgeon stated that the <br /> EDA and Planning Commission had recommended that the land use be changed from <br /> Commercial to Industrial. Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to why they would make <br /> that change. City Administrator Norman explained that there had been some discussion at <br /> the Council level that there was a need for more industrial property and the EDA and <br /> Planning Commission determined that that location is a poor side of the highway for <br /> commercial development. Councilmember Zimmerman inquired if the rezoning would be in <br /> conflict with the businesses that currently exist. Principal Planner Trudgeon replied that in <br /> most cases it would. Councilmember Zimmerman stated that he did not see a reason to make <br /> the land use change. Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he did not see a compelling <br /> reason to change the land use to Industrial. Mayor Gamec agreed with the land use change to <br /> Industrial. Councilmember Kurak agreed with the land use change to Industrial. <br /> Councilmember Anderson agreed with the land use change to Industrial. Majority consensus <br /> was to change the land use from Commercial to Industrial. <br />Sunflower Ridge, (Oakwood Land Development): Principal Planner Trudgeon stated that the <br />City received a request to change the land use from Low Density Residential to Medium <br />Density Residential. Councilmember Hendriksen noted that if they change the land use they <br />would be going from ten-acre parcels to seven units per acre. He was opposed to changing <br />the land use to Medium Density Residential. Councilmember Zimmerman stated that he was <br />opposed to changing the land use to Medium Density Residential. Councilmember Kurak <br />agreed with changing the land use to Medium Density Residential. Councilmember <br />Anderson agreed with changing the land use to Medium Density Residential. Mayor Gamec <br />agreed with changing the land use to Medium Density Residential. Majority consensus was <br />to change the land use from Low Density Residential to Medium Density Residential. <br />TSM Property: Principal Planner Trudgeon stated that the City had received a request to <br />change the land use from Industrial to Medium Density Residential. That request was <br />denied, but the Council had discussed changing the land use to Low Density Residential. <br />Councilmember Kurak stated that during the preliminary plat discussion, neighboring <br />residents stated that they were not opposed to single family residential on the property and <br />for that reason she would agree with the changing the land use to Low Density Residential. <br />Councilmember Zimmerman stated that he would agree with changing the land use to Low <br />Density Residential.
