2) <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />Highway #10 Industrial Development <br />City Administrator Norman stated that the EDA discussed the need for more industrial <br />development land and the amount of under-utilized property south of Highway #10, <br />currently designated as Commercial Business, that may be better suited for industrial <br />development. The various potential industrial sites along Highway #10 include the area <br />from the Anoka City limits through the western boundary of the Mississippi West <br />Regional Park. Additionally, the area north of Highway #10, adjacent to Elk River city <br />limits was also identified. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to forward <br />the land use change request to the Planning Commission for their consideration. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Ed Hamilton, 6615 Highway #10 NW, Ramsey, stated that he would <br />prefer that his property stay highway/commercial. Mayor Gamec recommended that Mr. <br />Hamilton address the Planning Commission on the issue and requested staff notify Mr. <br />Hamilton when the Planning Commission will be discussing the issue. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Anderson, <br />Hendriksen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Darkenwald Industrial Prospect Project <br />City Administrator Norman stated that the EDA recommended that the City begin <br />negotiations with property owners along Highway #10 so as to coordinate with <br />Darkenwald development project in order to redevelop the under-utilized property along <br />Highway #10. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to direct staff <br />to begin negotiations with property owners along Highway #10 and south of the <br />Darkenwald project for a possible redevelopment project. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Kurak, Anderson, <br />Hendriksen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Altron North Property <br />City Administrator Norman stated that the EDA recommended that the City Council <br />direct City staff to begin negotiations for the acquisition of the property for industrial <br />development purposes. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen, to direct <br />staff to begin negotiations with Altron for acquisition of the vacant parcel north of Altron <br />to Sunwood Drive. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
