During design Staff will further evaluate stormwater management to determine if any <br />stormwater improvements are necessary. <br />The engineer's opinion of probable project costs for completing the proposed improvements is $380,000. The <br />estimated costs for this project per the adopted 2021 - 2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) totaled <br />approximately $360,000. However, when Staff begins the process of implementing pavement management projects <br />a more detailed construction cost estimate is prepared including 10-percent contingency costs to account for <br />unknowns and minor appurtenant costs. Estimated construction costs are then increased by 23-percent to arrive at <br />estimated project costs. The 23-percent increase accounts for estimated indirect project costs for administrative, <br />engineering, finance and legal costs needed to deliver such projects. <br />The street improvements proposed with this project are proposed to be funded using a combination of Pavement <br />Management Funds and Stormwater Utility Funds as noted in the CIP. This project would best be constructed as a <br />stand-alone project and is necessary, feasible, and cost-effective from an engineering standpoint, and can be <br />constructed as proposed herein. <br />The proposed improvements are designated as City Improvement Project #21-02, Tiger Street Reconstruction. <br />Notification: <br />Notifications are not required for this case. <br />Observations/Alternatives: <br />Motion to adopt Resolution #21-009 ordering plans and specifications for improvement project #21-02, Tiger Street <br />Reconstruction. <br />Funding Source: <br />Staff estimates project costs based on anticipated 2021 construction costs to be $380,000. <br />As identified in the 2021 - 2030 CIP, proposed funding sources for this improvement include the Pavement <br />Management Fund and the Stormwater Utility Fund. Based on Staffs project cost estimate, each source is proposed <br />to fund the following amounts. <br />. Street Project Cost $360,000 <br />.
