12/14/2020 <br />City of Ramsey - Class Specification Bulletin <br />• Must pass a criminal history check <br />• Must pass a pre -employment physical exam and drug screen <br />DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: <br />• Applicable post -secondary education and/or certifications <br />• Previous experience installation and maintenance of irrigation systems <br />• Previous experience working in a municipal environment <br />• Previous experience with commercial snow plowing <br />• Previous experience with commercial lawn mowing <br />• Previous experience with commercial landscaping <br />ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: <br />Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following: <br />• Maintain parks, grounds and related facilities or equipment <br />• Perform iandscapelgrounds care/forestry/naturalist activities <br />• Installation and maintenance of irrigation systems <br />• Provide assistance with preparation of community events <br />• Perform motorized vehicle maintenance and repair <br />• Perform general maintenance activities <br />• Perform general labor <br />• Perform snow related activities <br />• Perform a wide range of tasks at the verbal or written direction of the Public Works <br />Superintendent and the Parks Supervisor or his/her designee <br />KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: <br />• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions and communicate in English <br />• Ability to work independently with limited supervision <br />• Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including cold or hot temperatures, <br />high humidity, wind or rain <br />• Must wear safety equipment as required and follow established safety practices and <br />procedures <br />• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and co-workers <br />• Ability to transport oneself to and around the work site <br />• General knowledge of general maintenance and landscape principles <br />• Ability to work alterntive scheduileds including evenings, weekends and possibly holiday <br />as required for the City's maintenance operations <br />l ttps:llagenc . overnmentjo s. omicit rofram a idefault.cfnPaction= pe bulletin lass pe ID=1 0 0&headerfooter=0 f <br />
