Motion by Councilmember Anderson, seconded by Councilmernber Kurak, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Anderson, and Kurak. Voting <br />No: Councilmembers Hendriksen, and Zimmerman. <br /> <br />3) Review and Adopt "Proposed" 2002 General Fund Budget <br /> <br />The Finance Committee recommended that that the City Council adopt Resolution #01-09-333 <br />Adopting the "Proposed" 2002 General Fund Budget. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting <br />No: Councilmembers Hendriksen, and Zimmerman. <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />Authorization for Preparation of Plans and Specifications for Azurite Street NW <br />Improvement between C.R. #116 and future Snnwood Drive NW <br /> <br />The Finance Committee recommended that the City Council authorize $50,800 for engineering <br />and platting purposes contingent upon the creation of the TIF District. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that the motion cannot be made contingent upon the creation <br />of the TIF District, because that would take three months and they are hoping to start <br />construction this fall. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen inquired as to how can they pay consultants if the TIF District is not <br />created. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied that staff could come back with an alternate source if the TIF <br />District is not created. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that they cannot authorize plans be prepared without the TIF <br />District being created. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman replied that the City would like to show a good faith effort to show <br />they are trying to work with the company. Staff can identify other funding sources until the TIF <br />District is created. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hendriksen stated that he could see identifying the $50,000 be taken from <br />somewhere else, but would not want the $400,000 construction costs to come forward before the <br />TIF District is created. <br /> <br />City Council/September 11, 2001 <br /> Page 22 of 23 <br /> <br /> <br />
