R le of E im a rq a irmm y M a uuri a a im a int Director <br />• Develops and maintains the city's Emergency Operations Plan <br />• Develops and implements a public warning system <br />• Develops standards and procedures for the emergency Operations Center (EOC) and manages EOC <br />operations. <br />Role f City it imp iiii tr t r <br />• Activating the Ramsey Emergency Response & Operations Plan when needed. <br />• Coordination with the Mayor and City Council. <br />• Use all the available resources of the City as reasonably necessary to cope with the disaster. <br />IR <br />le f Mayor <br />• The authority to issue a declaration of a local emergency. <br />• Issuance of orders for evacuation. <br />• Maintain liaison with other elected officials. <br />Role of !!; ity Council <br />• The City Council works closely with the City Administrator in a similar capacity as they work with the City <br />Administrator during normal operations. <br />• The Mayor and council do not have an operational or response role during an emergency. <br />• Your primary role during a disaster is one of policymaker, communicator, liaison, and oversight. <br />• Be patient.
