ORDINANCE #21-09 CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE SECTION 26-852 ENTITLED MASSAGE THERAPIST LICENSE The City of Ramsey ordains: SECTION 1. AUTHORITY This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the Charter of the City of Ramsey. SECTION 2. PURPOSE The purpose of this Ordinance is to revise City Code, Section 26-852 Therapeutic Massage Therapist license to: 1) authorize designated City Officials to accept and process applications, 2) require a minimum amount of training, 3) operate out of a licensed therapeutic massage establishment in Ramsey, and 4) to provide insurance coverage within the City of Ramsey, Anoka County, Minnesota. SECTION 3. AMENDMENT TO CITY CODE SECTION 26-852 The current City Code Section 26-852 is revised as follows (additions indicated by underline, deletions indicated by strikcthrough). Sec. 26-852. - Massage therapist license. (a) Each person intending to offer massage services to the public or for monetary compensation or other consideration must first apply for a license to perform such activities. (b) Each application for a massage therapist license must be made to the city clerk, or designated City Official on such forms as the clerk, or designated City Official may make available. (c) Each application must include: (1) All information and documentation required for a business license for a natural person as required in subpart (e) of section 26-851. (2) The length of experience of the applicant in this occupation and the past places of employment and positions held.
